Pumpkin Patch - October 2014

The kids each went to the local pumpkin patch during school.  I was only able to accompany Emily's class this year.  It was a fun little outing, and Emily loved picking out her own pumpkin.

Our Kittens

When we bought our house, the owners asked if we wanted their cat.  They told us they just fed it and that was it.  We agreed.  I didn't even think to ask if it was male or female, and I didn't think to ask if it has been spayed or neutered.  So a couple months after we moved in, we ended up with 6 surprise kittens.

At first I wasn't very happy about the kittens at all.  I didn't want to mess with trying to find homes for them, but the kids loved them so much that they grew on me.  The mama cat stopped showing up after they are close to being completely weaned, and we haven't seen her since.

We found homes for 4 of the kittens, and we kept two.  The one above is Charcoal (a boy) and below is Fluffy (a girl).  They have been fun, and having 2 is great because they keep each other company.

Flagstaff Day Trip - October 2014

We decided to take a day trip to Flagstaff and ride the ski lift.  It was a fun trip.  I was nervous a lot of the time because of being high up off the ground, but it was worth the bit of anxiety.  I was surprised the kids didn't get too scared.  Up at the top was freezing.  Thank goodness we wore jackets.

Yes...I was VERY cold.  Gloves and covered head.

The fall colors were wonderful.  All the red, yellow, and orange leaves.  Gorgeous!!

Everybody was grumpy at the top because it was so cold.  Nobody would smile for a picture.

Darrell's Birthday Celebration - Aug 2014

We celebrated Darrell's birthday with a yummy coconut cake, and sparklers.

They were all trying to cast Harry Potter spells with their sparklers.
