Apr 2014 - Pioneer Living History Museum

I have passed this museum numerous times on our visits to Prescott, but have never taken the time to go.  So I decided before we moved from the valley we should go.  We actually drove out a couple days earlier but it was cold and windy and rainy (where it came from I have no idea).  This day it was cool in the morning, but by the time we were done we were quite warm.

The museum is large and the kids were very tired after all the walking, but all in all I think they had fun...even if they did complain during parts of it.

Aren't they all so cute:)

I loved this picture opportunity...

May 2014 - Mom's Birthday

Not to fond of this picture, but since I do use these posts as a family journal that I then publish every couple years, I decided I had to include my birthday...of course I don't have to publish my age here...I can add that to the book later:) Emily picked out the lovely "pearl" necklace I'm wearing.

March - Pinewood Derby

This year was Derek's first pinewood derby.  Yes...legos.  He used the derby car base and added legos on top to make a race car.  He had fun but wished he could race more.

Girl cousins posing in between races.

Little Miss Harlie (cousin) loved the derby.  She was cheering the boys on with her sweet clapping.

Jun - Darrell Residency Graduation

It is finished!!  11 years of school and residency and now Darrell is finally done!  The residency graduation was a bit stressful but it was good.  The last one we will ever attend:)  All the neck wear was courtesy of some of the attending physicians and other residents.  Kind of a tradition.

Pictured above: Dr. Krepcho, Gary & Sarah Brimhall (Darrell's parents), Me, Darrell, Dr. Orm (Residency director).  Another tradition: When the graduate goes to receive his diploma on stage, they also present certificates of appreciation to family.

The above pictures is Darrell with Dr. Krepcho.  He was the residency counselor, and retired this year.  The graduating class presented him with a plaque.

Dr. Sugihara was one of the attending physicians in the program that Darrell enjoyed working with.  Here he is posing for a picture with his diploma and traditional doctor bag.  A gift given to all graduates.

The Phoenix Baptist Residency has a lot of traditions.  This one is the passing of the pagers.  The graduating class gives there pager and keys to an incoming intern during the graduation ceremony.  Usually with some funny advice.

March - Peacocks at Saguaro Ranch Park

Me and the kids have gone to the Saguaro Ranch Park numerous times, but on this particular day it was over cast and we got to see some the peacocks with their feathers all extended...beautiful!  It was so fun.  The kids of course fed the chickens and pigeons first.  They love doing that.

The peacocks feathers were so beautiful.  There were I think like 5 with their feathers out.  Even the little one on the right of this lower picture was participating:)  They would shake their feathers and it sounded like a vibrating rattle.

Jun - Move to Snowflake and Misc

Well we finally moved to Snowflake.  After anticipating it for 11 years, we finally made it:)  Moving day was quite stressful for me.  Darrell had to work and so I was home with the movers and feeling exhausted and sick being in my first trimester of pregnancy.  Monday they came and packed and Tuesday we moved.  Moving day was quite hectic.  There ended up not being enough room for all of our stuff, so they rented a haul to bring the rest.  I didn't realize how much stuff we had put into our little house...it didn't feel that full.  Anyway...we finally made it to Snowflake and the movers were there until after 8pm unloading.  Darrell got up to Snowflake about that time and boy was I glad to see him.

These are some of Derek's recent reptile finds.

Emily loves skirts, especially long ones.  We went back to the valley for Darrell's graduation and found one in a consignment store that had Emily written all over it.  Her grandma sized down the waste for her and she loves it.

The beautiful monsoon season has begun.  I just love monsoon season, but up here in the mountains it is way more spectacular.  I just love it!!
