Jun - Emily Birthday

Miss Em turns 7!  Wow!  She has said multiple times she wishes she was 8 so she could go to girls activity days at church.  I wish she would slow down...she reminds me of me.  I always wanted to grow up quick.

This little girl LOVES mint, so I made one cake chocolate with andes mints mixed in and the other plain chocolate for all those who despise mint.  She was the first to have a birthday in our new house. My sister and her kids were visiting, so that was fun.  We actually celebrated a few days earlier because we were in the valley for Darrell's graduation on her actual birthday. 

This little girl is full of imagination and smiles.  Her eyes light up with her smiles.  She loves to dance and wear skirts.  We call her our little hippie girl.  She loves wearing long colorful skirts.  It's like pulling teeth to get her to put a pair of shorts on if she has no clean skirts or we are going in nature or something.  She is also our little artist.  Anytime I post pictures of my kids artwork, the number of her drawings is much more than the other kids.

Emily is always good about saying sorry when she has been naughty.  If I just let her be and she cools off and comes back to apologize.  Very sweet girl.

Jun - Sarah Birthday

My baby is 5 years old and starts kindergarten this year. I keep telling her to stop growing, but she doesn't listen:)  She is such a sweet girl who needs her beauty sleep.  Of all my kids she needs the most sleep, or she is very cranky.  She is very adventurous.  Loves to ride her bike.  Insists on doing her own hair, including putting it up in a pony tail.  She is a little acrobat.  Every day she can stand on her head longer and longer.  I often find her watching TV in the upside down position.  

The look on her face here is her saying "ewwwww" while holding a package of new underwear.

Emily and Sarah's birthdays fall 15 days apart and to Emily's great chagrin, her's comes after her  younger sister.  This has cause a problem the past few years. Emily is totally confused why her birthday comes 2nd when she is the older of the two.  One of the problems is she gets very upset if Sarah gets something she wants.

This year I wanted to make them both a play makeup kit, and instead of waiting for Emily's birthday, I decided to just give them both a set on Sarah's birthday...that way it was new for both of them.  I am not a crafty person, but these kits turned out great, and they love them!

April - Show Low Hike

We were in Snowflake for Darrell's vacation and took the kids on a small hike in Show Low.  It was such a beautiful day, and sitting next to the water hearing the breeze through the trees was just marvelous!

My sweet Sarah.  The tree trunk she is standing in is rotted out in the middle.  She and Emily would get in it and pretend they were addressing a congregation or other group of people.  So cute:)
