Also while in Tucson we visited the University of Arizona Mineral Museum and Flandrau Science Center. These are some pictures from the mineral museum, located in the basement of the building. There were tons of gorgeous minerals. This was Darrell's favorite part of the trip. He spent well over an hour speaking with a curator at the museum. He was asking questions and getting one on one answers. He loved it!
So...how many of you have ever held $30,000 worth of gold? Well we did:) Of course Derek got to hold it first. It was pretty amazing. It's surprising how heavy this little chunk of gold is.
The science center wasn't huge, but the kids enjoyed it. This was a climbing wall in the museum.
Of course, we can't leave the museum without a goofy Sarah face:)
